Ana Sevinate has a master in clinical psychology by ISPA-IU, a postgraduate diploma in psychosynthesis by the Psychosynthesis & Education Trust, University of East London and a postgraduate diploma in Palliative Care by Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa. She is a member of Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses and of British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists. She works as a psychologist at Casa de Alba – therapeutic community in mental health and keeps her private practice, also working with expats living in Portugal. Ana has been developing her continuing professional development mostly in grief, life transitions/mental health and ecopsychology. Simultaneously, she has work experience in palliative care, which included facilitating support groups for health professionals: Palliative Care Unit, Clínica São João de Deus in Lisbon and Psycho-social Support Team of Santa Casa da Misericórdia do Porto (Humaniza Project, LaCaixa Foundation). She cooperates with Compassio (Porto), facilitating grief support groups as well as workshops and retreats on loss and grief and Borba Contigo Sociedade Compassiva; both these two associations are part of the Portugal Compassivo movement for the promotion of compassionate communities.
